I have been so bad about staying on top of the blog. I'm going to try and recap the last couple of months the best I can. Time if flying by so fast. Luella definitely keeps me on my feet and we like to stay busy. She turned into a little human over night. She is a little over 7 months now. She is sitting up on her own and still hasn't figured out how to crawl; I am more than ok with that. I am going to trip her the day she tries to walk. She will be all over the place. My dad loves to laugh and tell me how much trouble I am in for with her. I know we have our hands full. She loves food just like her mom and likes to hum while she eats. She has mastered how to sleep now and goes 11-12 hours! This girl does NOT sit still and is constantly moving; literally. You can't hold her because she just arches her back looking for something to grab or eat. She is my little buddy and I feel so lucky to be her mom. She smiles at everyone and is not shy at all.
Luella had her first sleepover at Karebears house this week. My mom asked and I was a little nervous but she did great. Loved getting this pic the next day. Her bed head is the best thing going!
Spoiled rotten
My mom and dad obviously love to babysit her. The sent me this picture one of the nights that they were watching her. The caption was "Future Sports Illustrated model" YIKES ha at least she is wearing a one piece ;-). This girl loves the water and has mastered sit ups. She should have a 6 pack here soon.
This kind of stuff happens when Papa and Karebear are left with her...
She also loves the Red Wagon and Bear they bought her..
Everytime I say, "Luella smile" its as if she knows what I'm saying. Natural performer.
We love our Poppy. He has been through more surgeries than anyone should ever have to go through. He is always happy and is the biggest trooper I've ever met. I'm grateful for his influence in my life and feel blessed that Luella will know her Great Grandpa.
Mother's day was special this year not just because I am now a mom but we were able to talk to Mitch. I really don't know how I lucked out with the family I have. We frequently get together and hang out at my parents. I can't believe how much our family has grown.
I think these 3 are going for the "tough guy" approach. BIG FAIL
One of the best parts of being mom is no agenda. We wake up and do whatever we want. We are lucky to have such fun cousins that like to play with us.
We go walking every other day with some friends in our neighborhood. This is one of her little buddies Rhett. I can't get enough of Luella's chipmunk cheeks and Rhetts ape arms. Match made in heaven.
Decided to take a fun little hike.
Since February I have been fortunate enough to be a contractor from home for Domo. I knew I always wanted to be a stay at home mom but also worried that I would have too much free time and not know what to do. I like to stay busy and the thought of giving up everything I had been working towards was sad. I no longer do our trade shows but instead oversee our website for tour events and take care of booking tours and dinners for the sales reps. Its been great and I do most of it during her naps and at night. It is so flexible and Im grateful that I didn't have to completely say goodbye to Domo. Sometimes I go in once a week to just hang out with the crew. Domo just recently launched and I was able to help out with Domopalooza. It is something we have been anticipating for a while! The event turned out great and I was lucky enough to meet Ludacris and Robin Thicke. I told Ludacris that I would be happy to be his back up dancer; he just looked at me with a fake smile...I'm just going to pretend that he is seriously considering it.
We had so much fun on Easter. It marked a year exactly that we announced what we were having. It's crazy to now have her here. That year flew by. She got a mini stuffed animal for Easter Grandma Newbold that looks like Rufus.
