Zoo time

Today was such a great day! Josh announced we were going to the Zoo! Everyone in Omaha said this was something everyone must do. Omaha has one of the largest Zoo's...

 I realized today how big of a baby Josh is when he sees a snake. There was a lady holding a huge one and I turned around to find Josh back at the entrance. Bless his heart. ha ha His favorite things were the tigers and gorillas. I loved the gorillas and the sharks; they gave me an adrenaline rush. Even though Josh was disappointed he didn't see a black jaguar we both enjoyed people watching and shade as well!

After the zoo, SMASH Burger was calling our names. Once we got home Josh taught me everything there was to know about alarms. I decided I am going to start selling alarms to business companies to give me something to do. I also have always wanted to see how I would do in sales.

Josh is out knocking now and tonight we are going to try and watch the rest of Season 2 Prison Break. I would say today has been a long and enjoyable day!   

Surprises

April 24th: Monday started out like any ordinary day around here. We woke up...whenever our bodies said wake up (I know rough) and then we made our oatmeal and read! Shortly after we read Josh randomly told me to hurry and shower because we were going somewhere. He drove us to the movie theatre to see The Lucky One! Josh knew I was dying to see it. We ordered a huge tub of popcorn, diet pepsi and enjoyed a movie theatre basically to ourselves. After the movie I said goodbye thinking he was wanting to go knock for a little bit but he told be to get back in the car. We went to the mall instead and later watched Prison Break. Now that is my kind of day...thanks Josh! It was so nice to spend the day with him. I love his surprises.

April 25th: Tuesday Josh went to work early that morning at 10 am and didn't get home until 9pm. Throughout the day I went running at the lake and got stuff done around the apartment. I wanted to surprise Josh with a special candle lit dinner. I made a new recipe and his favorite italian creme sodas.

Don't be fooled. I made the pasta myself but got the breadsticks and drinks from Olive Garden. GUILTY!

Josh was so surprised! We ate dinner than watched the basketball game with some friends. Such a fun night

Sunday walks

Sunday Josh and I went for a little walk around a lake. It's only 5 minutes away from where we live. I am in love with the area and can't wait to come running here. Next Sunday we plan on bringing a picnic.

Date night

Josh and I enjoyed a fun night out last night with Ching, Danny, and Aaron. They are Josh's friends who are out here selling with us. We went to Firebirds grill and I enjoyed the best coconut shrimp.

We did a little bit of shopping and then we headed to Walmart for our usual routine...JUNK FOOD to snack on for Sunday!

I have been to Walmart in Omaha more than I have in my entire life in Utah. This is what happens when you try to be domestic and plan a nice meal every night. Plus I am constantly making sure our cupboards are full of snacks. It's like my mother told Josh, "Full wife, happy life!" I can tell you that I have completely memorized every aisle at Walmart. Toilet paper is 3rd aisle from the back and paper towels are the 2nd aisle. You would think they would put it on the same aisle?

Anyways...moving on! Josh and I have come across a huge problem....A couple days ago I asked Josh if he had ever watched Prison break. Neither of us had seen all of the seasons so we decided it would be fun to start watching it. This one decision has caused a lack of sleep, an addiction, and unnecessary treats to keep us awake. We started this week and already finished Season 1. Just thinking that there are 3 more Seasons makes me want to burn the discs. For those reading this, Prison break is amazing and addicting...Don't start watching it if you know what's good for you.

As much as it consumes our life right now we thoroughly enjoy having something to look forward to every night! Brace yourself because this picture is of us last night at 5 am...we watched it from 9:30pm to 5am. Not to mention we took a break at 4 am to cut up vegetables for Sunday's crockpot dinner. Oh boy!

Omaha bound...

My excitement for our rode trip faded at about the 10 hour mark. At that point I had eaten everything we brought, watched a movie, sang at the top of my lungs with Josh, and was ready to use my legs. Drum roll…14 hours past and we pulled into OMAHA, Nebraska. It was not the way I pictured it, which was a good thing! The second we arrived I told Josh I would be happy living here forever. There are so many trees and different unique neighborhoods. Everything you could possibly need was on the main drag right by our apartment. BOOM!

The second we walked into our apartment I sighed with relief and smiled because we officially had our own place…just the two of us.

Once we got settled in we headed to Walmart to grocery shop for the first time together. This experience opened our eyes big time!

Some bits of our converstations strolling through Walmart….both of us asked too many questions:

You want ham?? yes...Oh well I want Turkey?? Why did you go down that aisle first? Can we get a candle and flowers?? I like the quaker brand of oatmeal?? I don’t like cheap toilet paper?? You have to get the honey with the good lid? Um you need to get matching rings if you are going to get the shower curtain.

My favorite was “What would you like for dinner the next couple of days? Josh’s response, “I am fine with oatmeal or a ham sandwich.”

Just imaging myself eating that for dinner made me want to cry. I love food way too much to limit myself to that. Sorry Joshy! Luckily we made it out alive.

Newbies

Once we arrived home from our honeymoon it was off to live in Josh’s parents basement until we moved to sell for the summer. What we thought was going to be 1 week turned into 2 ½. I laugh just thinking about it. For once in my life I was jobless and had all the time in the world to do whatever. The transition into married life was quite a breeze as I watched Josh do the laundry and make food for himself. I guess this is was 27 years of independency looks like. Lucky me! I kept reminding him that it was my job and I could do it. He insisted that he was happy to help and it’s a team effort. One of the many reasons I love him…

Honeymoon

Josh kept where we were going on our honeymoon a secret from me. Some people were close to blowing it but I was still left in the dust. After our wedding he told me we were heading to MAUI! I was so excited because Hawaii is one of my favorite places to go.

Whale watching was one of our favorite things. We followed a mother, baby, and 2 males fighting over the mom. They were so close! Such a cool experience

My dream came true! Josh and I took a helicopter ride to another island and saw amazing waterfalls and much more. The best part was sitting in the front next to the pilot....oh and josh ha

Josh was addicted to this shaved ice. He had 3 in a matter of 12 hours. We definitely felt sick after but we both felt it was worth it!

Josh always tells me that I am his MIRACLE and I tell him he is PERFECT; he reminds me that LOGICALLY that isn’t possible haha

Never even my wildest dreams did I think I could find someone absolutely perfect for me. He is everything I wanted and more. He is the other half I need and together we can do anything.  I always tell him that I LOVE US.

Marriage is a book and the best part is getting to write our own story. I love knowing that I get to spend forever with my best friend. Every night I go to bed, I wonder what I did to deserve someone so special.

Our journey so far has been a dream come true. Our wedding day was blissful and filled with everyone we love. It was the happiest day of our lives. 

Engagement Story

Josh and I went ring shopping to multiple places but I liked way too many styles. I didn't mean to make this process hard but it was inevitable. After a while I told Josh 3 different styles I liked and that it was his decision to choose one. Plus I thought it would be fun to be surprised.

After a while, I wondered when the big day was going to happen. He told me the ring was not done being made yet. Boom, it hit me then that he was getting a custom made ring, which meant the surprise was over.

The next day I was working at the BYU basketball game and he was playing ball with his friends. Our plan was for me to come to his place in South Jordan after work. During halftime I received a text from Josh that told me their game forfeited and he was heading down to Provo instead. On my drive home I called to see where he was at and as I pulled in my garage he was standing there in a suit with yellow roses!

I ran and gave him a hug when he told me that he didn't want to disappoint me but it wasn't what it looked like. We walked inside downstairs to a trail of roses and candles. I immediately began to cry and turned the corner to find a gorgeous candle lit dinner that he had made all by himself. 

He held me in his arms and said that he just wanted to do something nice for me and he would never propose like this.

Josh has always loved surprising me so I actually believed that this was just a nice night he had put together for us to enjoy. After dinner we slow danced to our song and then he asked if I was ready for dessert. I closed my eyes and my heart dropped as I heard him kneel to the ground. The time had COME!. 

YES!!! That night was magical! 

There is no better feeling than saying YES to the right person!

Dating Life

Let's take a walk down memory lane…

Josh and I were set up through my good friend Devri.. During that time Josh was in Thailand for his Pharmacy Study Abroad. Devri made sure he called me shortly after he got home. Our phone conversation lasted forever and I remember having to hang up the phone because I was laughing so hard. He asked me on two dates that day before we even went out on one. Talk about coming on strong! I am sure glad he did because from that day on my life was about to become that much better.

I will never forget when Josh first picked me up to go on a date. His face seemed so familiar and I immediately told my friend I would marry him someday!

Josh Newbold….is from South Jordan, Ut and is 27 years old. He graduated from Pharmacy at the University of Utah and is way too smart for his own good. Luckily he is a BYU fan…phew. He loves to  play basketball,football and baseball. Diet Mt Dew is his sweet addiction, along with cinnamon rolls. Josh is very logical and sees the world so clear. Nothing gets him down and he is very rational when dealing with any issue. I am emotional so together we are the perfect balance! His love for the gospel is such an example to me. Josh is very humble, sweet, makes me laugh and is the best listener. I love how he always seeks to understand and is willing to do anything to make me happy. He works so hard and I love the person he brings out in me.

I am from Holladay, Ut and graduated from BYU in 2010 studying Marriage and Family Studies. I danced on the Cougarettes for 4 years and loved every second of it. Once I graduated, I worked for 2 years in BYU Athletic Marketing, which was the best experience. I find joy in dancing, skiing, yoga, wakeboarding, traveling, longboarding and running. I eat constantly and am known for carrying snacks in my purse at all times.  I love being busy and enjoy people. I am the furthest from shy and love to laugh.
